Ola Landgren is Professor of Medicine at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Miami, Miami, Florida. He is the Chief of the Myeloma Program and the Leader for the Experimental Therapeutics Program. He previously served as the Chief of the Myeloma Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, and prior to that he served as the Chief of the Myeloma Program at National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He has a longstanding interest and track-record in drug development, translational science, and he is one of the pioneers the development of minimal residual disease (MRD) assays in multiple myeloma.

Dr. Izidore Lossos is Professor of Medicine and the Director of Lymphoma Program at Sylvester. He holds a Sylvester endowed chair at the NCI designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Hadassah School of Medicine, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem and postdoctoral fellowship with major emphasis on lymphoma at Division of Medical Oncology at Stanford University.

The focus of Dr. Lossos’s research is pathogenesis of lymphoma, identification of molecular prognostic markers and elucidation of their role in determination of response to therapy, development of new lymphoma therapies. His studies focus on diffuse large cell lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, primary CNS lymphoma, lymphomas of the eye and other lymphoma subtypes. His research involves basic research at the bench and translation of these findings to clinical trials. He participated in multiple clinical trials as a PI or co-PI. He has authored multiple reviews, commentaries and book chapters as well as more than 285 peer-reviewed articles in such journals as New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, Nature, Cell, Nature Communications, Cancer Cell, Cancer Discovery, EMBO, Journal of Clinical Investigations, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Leukemia, Journal of Immunology, Cancer and others.

He is a recipient of the 2007- Celgene Young Investigator Award for Achievements in Clinical Hematology and the 2012 and 2020 – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Outstanding Cancer Research Award and 2020 Schally Research Award in Internal Medicine. Since 2004 and till 2020 he is recognized as an America’ Top Doctor by the A Castle Connolly Guide and in 2011-2016 was recognized as Top Doctor by US News and World Report. He serves on an Advisory board of Lymphoma Foundation.

Dr. Eli Muchtar is an associate consultant in the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester since 2017. Dr. Muchtar is a graduate of Ben Gurion University of the Negev where he received M.D. degree in 2009.  He completed his residency training at Rabin medical center in Petah Tikva, Israel.   He then completed a three-year hematology fellowship at the same hospital between 2012 and 2015 and worked as a research fellow at Mayo Clinic between 2015 and 2017.

Dr. Muchtar research focuses on plasma cell disorder and particularly amyloidosis syndromes. He has devoted most of his time for clinically-oriented research on AL amyloidosis and published numerous original articles and review articles in the field. Dr. Muchtar has demonstrated a great passion for research and for care for patients with amyloidosis. he is committed for increasing awareness for amyloidosis to improve early disease recognition.

Carsten U Niemann is an expert in clinical and laboratory hematology with more than 10 years hands-on experience in hematology research laboratories in Europe and US, heading the leukemia research laboratory and the clinical research program for CLL at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark. He has authored more than 70 research papers book chapters and reviews. Combining genetic and functional characterization of CLL and microenvironmental cells, MRD testing and diagnostics for CLL, along with epidemiological studies, he has impacted current practice in CLL, as evidenced by co-authorship on the updated ESMO guidelines, the current guidelines for TP53 mutational analysis in CLL and the guidelines on flowcytometric diagnosis of CLL. Based on combining studies of microenvironment in CLL and epidemiology with machine learning, his research group is focusing on all aspects of immune (dys)function in CLL. As chair of the Nordic CLL study group, he is founding member of the GAIA/CLL13 and Vision/HO141 clinical trials as well as the upcoming CLL17 and HO158 clinical trials along with having developed and being sponsor for the machine learning based PreVent-ACaLL clinical trial, thus leading the way for testing novel targeted and personalized therapy in CLL.

Prof. Pia Raanani MD is Head of the Division of Hematology at the Rabin Medical Center. She is Clinical Full Professor in Hematology at the Tel-Aviv University.

Prof. Raanani trained in hematology at the Sheba Medical Center and completed a fellowship in CML at the Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. In 2007 she established the Hemato-oncology Hospitalization Unit at the Davidoff Cancer Center. Prof. Raanani was Head of the Department of Hematology of the Faculty of Medicine Tel-Aviv University between 2010–2014 and has been Head of the Research Funds Committee of the Sackler School of Medicine since 2014.

Prof. Raanani is on the Editorial board of several international hematology journals. Since 2015 she has served as Ambassador for Israel of the MD Anderson Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO). Since July 2017 she is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Acta Haematologica.

Prof. Raanani is a co-author of more than 200 articles as well as chapters in books. During the last years, she has chaired several international scientific meetings in the field of hemato-oncology.

Tadeusz Robak, MD, PhD, is Professor of Hematology at the Medical University of Lodz   and the Copernicus Memorial Hospital in Lodz, Poland. Professor Robak studied medicine at the Medical University of Lodz and was approved as haematologist in 1985.    He undertook further postgraduate training in 1983–1984 at Hammersmith Hospital and the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London, UK. In 1996–2002 he was vice-rector and rector of the Medical University of Lodz. Professor Robak was Chair of the chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) subgroup of the Polish Adult Leukemia Study Group. Since 2011to 2019 he was the president of the Polish Society of Hematology.  He has written more than 600 journal articles, most published in well-regarded peer-reviewed journals, and numerous abstracts and books or book chapters. His special interests are in chronic lymphocytic leukemia, hairy cell leukemia and lymphoma, with particular emphasis on the use of purine analogues and targeted drugs in the treatment of these diseases. Professor Robak was principal investigator of several Polish multi-centre phase 3 trials of cladribine in CLL and hairy cell leukaemia.    He was also principal investigator of the large international trials (REACH and COMPLEMENT2) in relapsed/refractory CLL and LYM 3002 study in mantle cell lymphoma. He is   reviewer for numerous journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer Treatment Reviews, Blood, Leukemia, Leukaemia and Lymphoma, Lancet, Lancet Oncology and others.  Professor Robak has been selected by the World Scientists Forum of the International Research Promotion Council (IRPC) for the “Eminent Scientist of the Year 2010” award in haematology-oncology. Since 2019 he is a member of the European School of Haematology Scientific Committee and full member of the IWCLL Board.

Dr. Kerry Rogers is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University and specializes in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and Hairy Cell Leukemia (HCL).  She is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as both Hematology and Medical Oncology.  Dr. Rogers has expertise in therapies for CLL and in addition to caring for patients with CLL and HCL in clinic, she is the principal investigator on several clinical trials studying chemotherapy-free combination regimens for CLL utilizing currently approved or novel agents.  These focus on strategies for time-limited treatment or elimination of molecular resistance.  She has completed several retrospectives studies examining the effects of the first-in-class BTK inhibitor, ibrutinib.  She actively involved in research on targeted agents in HCL.  Her other research interests include complications of targeted therapy for CLL, management of Richter’s syndrome, and autoimmune cytopenias.

Dr. Davide Rossi is Deputy Head of the Division of Hematology of the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland IOSI and Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Hematology at the Institute of Oncology Research IOR in Bellinzona, Switzerland.

Dr. Rossi obtained a Medical Degree magna cum laude from the Amedeo Avogadro University of Eastern Piedmont in 2000, he then trained in Internal Medicine (board certification in 2005) and obtained a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Medicine in 2009.  From 2008 to 2015 Dr. Rossi worked as Assistant Professor of Hematology at the Amedeo Avogadro University of Eastern Piedmont and coordinated an independent clinical and research unit dedicated to lymphoproliferative disorders.

In 2011 Dr. Rossi was awarded the Young Investigator Prize for the research in the field of lymphomas and leukemias by the Italian National Academy of Sciences and in 2018 the European Research Council awarded him the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant to support his research “Harnessing clonal evolution in chronic lymphocytic leukemia”.

Dr. Rossi has established himself as a leader in his field, as documented by a number of honors including: Chairing sessions at the Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) and at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH);

Providing educational contributions at the EHA, ASH and ICML meetings; Serving as reviewer for many leading journals and scientific institutions.

Furthermore, Dr. Rossi is author of 267 peer reviewed publications (total IF: 1678, total nonself-citations: 14571; h-index: 62).

The research topic of Dr. Davide Rossi is the molecular pathogenesis and diagnosis of B-cell tumors and translation of biological information into markers for disease diagnosis and prognostication. In this field, original and ground-breaking contributions of the proponent include:

I. Identification of NOTCH1, SF3B1 and BIRC3 mutations in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and characterization of their clinical role;
II. Definition of the molecular bases of high risk CLL, including refractory and transformed disease;
III. Definition of the genetic profile of very low risk CLL patients, including highly stable/non-progressing patients and patients who gain durable remission after chemoimmunotherapy;
IV. First description of the clinical relevance of small TP53 mutated subclones in CLL;
V. Seminal characterization of the splenic and nodal marginal zone lymphoma genome, including the identification of NOTCH2, PTPRD and non-canonical NF-κB gene mutations in marginal zone lymphomas;
VI. Validation of plasma cell free DNA as a tool to inform on tumor genetics in lymphomas

During his postdoctoral research, Dr. Shlush examined genes commonly mutated in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), successfully identifying those “pre-leukemic” stem cells that go on to form cancerous cells. In his more recent work, Dr. Shlush used population-wide medical data available through a large repository of electronic health records (the Weizmann-Clalit project), along with deep sequencing techniques, to characterize the genes frequently mutated in the peripheral blood cells of individuals who later developed AML. Not only did this work form the basis of a model that accurately predicted AML-free survival, it also led to a model for identifying healthy individuals who are at risk for developing AML in the future. This research by Dr. Shlush and his colleagues represents a paradigm shifting in AML, which has long been considered as an unpredictable and unpreventable disease. It will also generate an enthusiasm toward the possibility of AML prevention through early intervention in a high-risk population.

Prof. Shpilberg is the director of the Hematology Department at Assuta Medical Center, Tel Aviv.
He is also a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Ariel University.  
In addition to his MD degree, Prof. Shpilberg also holds a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH).
Prof. Shpilberg served in the Israel Defense Force Reserves as the chairman of the Scientific Council of the Medical Corps and also served as the chairman of the Israeli society of hematology between 2008-2014.
Since 2005, Prof Shpilberg is the israeli national representative in the European MCL consortium and serves as the national PI for the TRIANGLE clinical trial.

Prof. Shpilberg has authored hundreds of pre-clinical and clinical papers.
Under his leadership, the medical centers he worked in have participated in some of the world's most prominent clinical trials.
He has received prestigious research grants and numerous awards for his contributions to the world of science.

Dr. Tamar Tadmor, Director of the Division of Hematology and Blood Bank, at Bnai Zion Medical Center, Haifa- Israel.
Associate Professor, at the Faculty of Medicine, Technion- Haifa.
She completed her medical studies in Milan, Italy.
She specialized in internal medicine and completed her residency in Hemato-Oncology at the Ben-Zion Medical Center, where she received an outstanding internship from the Israel Cancer Association at 2004.
From 2006 to 2008, she was involved in basic research in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in Miami, Florida as part of post-doctoral studies.
Her main interests: chronic leukemia leukemia (CLL), Hairy cell leukemia (HCL) Multiple myeloma (MM) and lymphomas (NHL, HL)
She leads clinical studies in these and other fields.

After graduation in Medicine and residency in Hematology at the University of Perugia (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. M. F. Martelli and Prof. B. Falini, Enrico Tiacci trained in the molecular pathogenesis of lymphomas at the University of Essen (Germany) in the laboratory of Prof. R. Küppers.

He then established an independent translational and clinical research program in leukemias and lymphomas at the University and Hospital of Perugia, where he is Associate Professor of Hematology.

His most relevant recent scientific contributions to pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of blood cancers include the following:

• The discovery of BRAF mutation as the genetic cause of hairy cell leukemia, its diagnostic exploitation and its therapeutic targeting in the clinic.
• The discovery of disruptive BCOR mutations in acute myeloid leukemias
• The study of high-risk clonal hematopoiesis in patients with myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms
• The transcriptional characterization of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and of its potential normal cell counterpart (CD30+B cells), followed by the definition of the cHL coding genome and the identification of new frequently mutated genes in this neoplasm (e.g., STAT6 and GNA13).
